Faith and Recovery
Christ-centered recovery support with clear clinical boundaries
Faith is part of the Verity identity. Spiritual support should remain respectful, practical, client-directed, and clearly separate from licensed treatment or crisis care so the site feels both Christian and clinically trustworthy.
What this means
Christ-centered support should shape tone, not control treatment.
At Verity, Christ-centered support is meant to influence how people are treated: with honesty, humility, accountability, compassion, and respect. The goal is not performance, pressure, or spiritual posturing.
Who is welcome
People come with different stories and different levels of belief.
Clients and families may be deeply committed Christians, cautiously curious, reconnecting with faith, or simply asking practical questions about the environment. Verity aims to speak clearly about its Christ-centered identity while treating people with dignity at every stage.
What support can look like
Faith can strengthen recovery without replacing treatment.
Spiritual support should feel grounded, voluntary, and helpful to the recovery environment rather than disconnected from daily life or confused with clinical care.
Christ-centered conversation, prayer, and Christian encouragement.
Respect for clients who are exploring faith, returning to faith, or simply asking practical questions.
A recovery culture that values honesty, humility, responsibility, grace, and service.
Space to ask how prayer, Scripture, church connection, spiritual routines, or 12-Step recovery fit into daily life.
12-Step and Christian integration
The 12 Steps can be explained in explicitly Christian language
Verity presents the 12 Steps through a Christ-centered lens while respecting the clinical purpose of structured addiction treatment. Christian faith may shape the way surrender, honesty, confession, accountability, amends, humility, and dependence on God are understood in recovery.

What treatment may include
Spiritual support should stay practical and voluntary
Treatment may include Christian recovery groups, Scripture-based reflection, prayer, pastoral or spiritual support, church-community connection, 12-Step meetings, sponsorship education, service opportunities, and recovery-focused fellowship.

Important boundaries
Spiritual support should stay clear about what it is and what it is not.
Verity can make room for prayer, Scripture, spiritual encouragement, and 12-Step recovery while still being honest about the role of outside providers and higher care. Religious participation alone is not presented as treatment for addiction or mental illness.
Faith does not replace detox, therapy, medication, or emergency care.
Spiritual conversation should not be used to shame residents or explain relapse as spiritual failure.
Residents should be treated with dignity whether they are confident, uncertain, or cautious about faith.
